Joined Veneer
Fanerami has one of the most modern mashine equipment in Sweden for veneer joining. In our factory we have all different mashines for joining veneer, with edge to edge glue system to zik-zak machines. Our rational flow and our extensive experience makes us the best supplier on the market, where we can offer you competetive prices and superior quality.
In order to achiveve the optimum results of the veneer, the following must be observed and decided:
Wood Specie
Foremost, you must of course choose which wood specie you would like. Fanerami has over 50 different wood species on stock, and we can additionaly aqquire almost all different wood species which are produced in veneer, within short notice. Please follow this link, to see pictures of some of the possibilities.
Structure
We differ between two sorts of veneer structure, crown cut or quarter cut. It is important to decide which structure you prefer as the finished product will look quite different depending on which choice you make. Please see the picture for examples.
Joining Techniques
When joining veneer, one can do so with different techniques. Please see more information about this on the chapter veneer joining. Here are a few different techniques which we do:
• Book Match
• Slip Match
• Reversed Book Match
• Mis-Match
Splicing
At Fanerami we have equipment to splice with three different methods. These are glue (edge to edge), zik-zak glue and paper. For more information which is most appropriate for your product, please contact us.
Quality
Veneer quality can be very difficult to describe in words. There are no general rules of grading for veneer quality, and it is often up to the person viewing at the veneer to decide what is high and low quality. Nonetheless, we at Fanerami differ between 4 qualities, which we have tried to describe as follows:
| AA | A very high quality, no defects, even color, even structure. Suitable for products with extreme quality demands. |
| A | A normal good quality, even color, nice structure, some certain natural defects can be allowed. Suitable for most
visable areas on furniture and panels |
| B | Suitable for veneer which is not visible on first sight, insides of cabinets and such. Can be color deviations, defects and such. |
| C | All types of defects is allowed, best suited as backsides for not visible veneer. |
Specialty Veneer (modern intarsia)
Fanerami started with advanced intarsia veneer production. We still have some knowledge about this and can offer our customers a big variety of unique patterns and mixture of wood species. Please send us drawings of what you have in mind and we will be happy to help you realize your ideas.
